3rd Annual Club Party and other important announcements

Save the date!
Please join us for our 3rd Annual Club Party on Saturday, September 7th starting at 2pm.  Help us kick off the 2019-20 season and celebrate our newly renovated club!  Please RSVP to the Evite invitation you received.

In Memoriam:  Jerry Schwartz and Jerry Kemsley
We recently lost two long-term members of the club.  Jerry Schwartz was one of our founding members.  He was a great guy and fun to play tennis with.  Members will always remember his distinctive voice, witticisms and how he hummed when he played.

In addition to tennis, Jerry Kemsley was also a skier and had a passion for music, language and travel.  There will be a celebration of his life for on August 17 from 2-5pm at Willy’s Bar in Kissing Bridge Central.

How to annoy your fellow members
If you are looking to frustrate and annoy your fellow members, here’s a list of some tried and true ways:

  • Don’t cancel a reservation you are not using.  Members hate seeing open courts that were “reserved.”  Also, be sure your league captain doesn’t cancel the courts you are not using so these prime-time slots go to waste.
  • Don’t pick up the balls behind the curtains after practicing.   You can always count on being frustrated when trying to sort through a dozen balls to retrieve a game ball.
  • Don’t sign in your guest(s).  Your fellow members who sign in their guests hate seeing that you are not doing the same.  Also annoying is bringing in the same guest more than five times or scribbling guest names so they can’t be read.

We still have memberships available, so please encourage frequent guests and other prospective members to fill out a member application and/or contact Elaine Idzik OR Andrea McGrath.   Copies are posted at the club as well as on our website here.

Board of Directors
We will have open board seats this fall so please consider getting more involved with the club.  If you are interested in running for a three-year term, please reply to this email and the Board will be notified of your interest.  We will have three open seats this fall and only one incumbent running for re-election.

Our next board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18th at 6pm.  All members are encouraged to attend.
