| SPRING CLEAN-UP WAS A BIG SUCCESS The recent Club spring clean-up was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who was able to attend. After a lot of hard work (and some donuts & coffee), the club looks great! CLUB REPAIRS & MAINTENANCE Since our last newsletter, there have been a number of repairs and updates to the facility. The following is a list of a few of the items: Drone inspection and remediation of all necessary roof repairs Replacement of furnace motor and readjustment of blowers LED Lights were replaced/repaired New straps were placed on both court nets If you are aware of anything that needs attention, please talk to a member of the Board or send an email to quakeraurora@gmail.com. INVOICES SENT Invoices for membership dues have been sent out. Dues for a single membership will remain at $700 per year, while family memberships will stay at $1,075 per year. Please note that the only change is that there will now be a late fee of $25 imposed if paid after September 30, 2024. WHY DO WE REQUIRE SIGN-IN SHEETS? Once in a while members ask why we have to bother to sign in on the sheets provided at the club. After all, isn’t the electronic record in YourCourts enough? It’s a fair question. As a member-owned private club, QATC carries insurance to protect all of us from liability. If a player ever suffered injury at the Club and approached QATC for damages, our insurer would be engaged. To validate the claim, one of the first things that could be checked is the accuracy of our attendance record for the incident. A check on the general accuracy of attendance records for a larger date range could be done to determine whether our records are typically accurate. In addition, the sign-in sheets show that players were present at the Club during the YourCourts reservation time. Such proof would put QATC in a good position with our insurer and protect our membership. Thanks for your cooperation in using the sign-in sheets when you are at the Club GUEST POLICY Guest fees are $10 per person for up to 2 hours of court time per session. Guests may only play a maximum of 5 times per year (September through August) regardless of who invites the individual to play. Please advise your guest(s) of current Club policies. RESERVATIONS FOR BALL MACHINE/LESSONS We have added new items to the YourCourts reservations system, allowing members to differentiate their reservation between “Casual Play,” etc., and “Practice – Ball Machine” or “Lesson”. When making your reservation, kindly click the checkbox under “Type” and make your choice. This will similarly assist our ongoing efforts to better assess current court usage. UPCOMING NEW MEMBERS Due to the resignation of some of our members, invitations to join have been issued to some of those on the waiting list including: Kathy Hauser, 3.5 Jim McCarthy, 3.5 Gabrielle McCarthy Eric Wake, 3.0 Heather Carson-Wake, 2.5 Anthony Brunsing, 4.0 Please welcome these upcoming new members and welcome them in your league play. NEXT MEETING The next meeting of the QATC Board will be held at the Club on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 6:30pm.
